Why you should not wait for the right time

‘Right time’ is a myth. It’s a buzzword that is the profound root cause of procrastination. If we keep waiting for the right time, moment, and opportunity, a good possibility is that- we will keep waiting and waiting. That right time will never come.
I have seen many people wasting their time, and talent just waiting for the right time. This is a mean way people define their fear and procrastination phase. Sometimes people fear that they will not be able to get the success they deserve. So, they end up waiting for the right time. In many cases, the inherent fear is the opposite- they fear they will be successful. Weird, right? I read this quote by Nelson Mandela,
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?”
Most of the time people do not value themselves. They fear they will outshine their light. Even though they are talented they fear they will not be able to get the success they desire or deserve. Even if they get success, are they good enough? Many people suffer from this imposter syndrome and wait for the perfect time, which never comes. We should get out of this ‘fear’ zone and work towards our dreams. Because if you don’t, who else will fight for your dream?
We often keep our beautiful dresses for special occasions, very organized in the closet. I found many dresses I bought, never worn– just waiting for the right occasion. But that right occasion never came, and I donated them all because either I didn’t fit in those anymore or those dresses were out of fashion. Such a waste of time, energy, and money! And the same goes for the beautiful dishes we keep safely for special occasions. If you don’t enjoy it now, then when? When is the right time?
The best time to do things was yesterday and the next best is ‘now’. Don’t wait for the right time, create your own right time. Especially, in this fast-paced era of social media and AI, there is no better time than ‘now’. ‘Now’ is the right time. Take advantage of the present time. Remember, success does not magically appear in one day. It takes time. If you don’t start now, wait for the right time, you are already lagging. So, don’t wait, put yourself out there. Have some faith, you will get what you deserve.
